The Granada: Celebrating 100 Years of the Arts in Santa Barbara
A Centennial documentary
It’s our story. Our history. Our very own home movie
The Granada Theatre opened in 1924 as a Grand Movie Palace and Live Performance Venue. The Granada Holding Company envisioned a magnificent performance space, a skyscraper, that would attract tourists, encourage prosperity, and serve as a gathering place for all of Santa Barbara.
The Granada Theatre and other presenters showcase concerts featuring popular entertainers and world-class comedians.
Broadway
The Broadway In Santa Barbara Series brings hits straight from Broadway to The Granada Theatre.
Classical Music
An exciting lineup from Santa Barbara Symphony, CAMA, Opera Santa Barbara, Music Academy of the West, and UCSB Arts & Lectures.
Dance
State Street Ballet and UCSB Arts & Lectures seasons feature a brilliant line-up of Classic and Contemporary Dance.
Film & Lectures
Since its opening in 1924, The Granada has been a vital showcase for film and continues to be a hub for both cinematic excellence and a wide range of lectures from UCSB Arts & Lectures and other presenters.
Other Special Performances
A variety of programming for audiences young and old.
